People's Republic of Amnesia​

2014 is the 25th anniversary of the Tiananmen Massacre. This project deploys an architectural and theatrical means to re-frame the political and historical facet of the Tiananmen Square. The video frames out different moments that were happening on the site, collapsing all the stories into a time lapse. Giving the viewer strong visual impact of the space of amnesty. The stories want to provide a refuge to the 6.4 students, and provoke the discourse on basic human rights.

 

In 2014, my friend was working on her Wallenberg studio on this topic. I made this 1 min 35 sec video for her final presentation.
